1. Welcome to Verifid
Welcome to Verifid! These terms and conditions govern your use of the Verifid app ("App") and all related services ("Products") provided by Verifid Limited ("we," "our," or "us"). By downloading, installing, and using our App and Products, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our App and delete it from your device.
Please read these terms carefully, as they explain who we are, how you and we may change or end the contract between us, and other important information. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
We recommend that you save or print a copy of these terms for future reference.
2. About Verifid
Verifid provides a secure digital identity platform that allows you to prove who you are, both online and in person. Our App and Products are free for individual users when proving your identity or age to other people or organizations, such as during online shopping or entering a venue. However, we may offer optional premium services or features in the future that could carry a cost. You will be notified of any such charges with at least three months’ notice.
You control what identity information you add to your App account and decide when to use the App to identify yourself to a third party. Any sharing of your data is fully controlled by you.
3. Before You Create Your Verifid Account
To use our App, you must meet the minimum age requirement for your country (usually 13 years or older, but this may vary depending on local laws). Each user may only create one Verifid app account.
By creating an account, Verifid grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for private, non-commercial purposes only, unless otherwise expressly allowed by us in writing. We may revoke this license at any time if you fail to comply with these terms.
Our Products are not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. If we discover or suspect that you have provided false age information or do not have the required parental consent where applicable, we may suspend or terminate your access to our Products until you provide valid proof of age or consent.
4. Creating and Adding Information to Your Account
To create an account on the Verifid App, you need to:
- Enter your mobile number.
- Set up a secure PIN code.
- Upload a selfie for identity verification.
You may also add a valid identity document (such as a passport or driving license) to enhance your verification. When you create your App account, we will temporarily store your data for up to 30 days to verify its accuracy, after which it will be encrypted to ensure your privacy.
We may request additional verification steps, such as performing a liveness test to confirm you are a real person and not a bot. This test could involve recording a short video of yourself or moving your phone in a specific way to capture multiple angles. All such verification data will be processed securely and deleted within 30 days unless otherwise required for ongoing verification purposes.
After verification, your data is encrypted, and only you will have the private encryption keys stored on your mobile device. It is your responsibility to keep your device and login credentials secure to prevent unauthorized access.
5. Using Your Verifid App to Share Information
You have full control over when and how your data is shared through the Verifid App. When you choose to share your information with third parties, both you and the recipient will receive a digital receipt of the data exchange. These receipts are encrypted and securely stored by Verifid and cannot be accessed by us without the corresponding encryption key.
You can also add attributes to your App account, such as educational qualifications or professional references. These attributes should be accurate, current, and relevant. Verifid reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you add or share any false, misleading, or out-of-date information.
6. Use of the Verifid Hub
The Verifid Hub is a platform that allows you to set up web pages for receiving data from other users. If you choose to use the Hub, you are responsible for the content you add and must comply with our content standards:
- Content must be accurate, lawful, and not misleading.
- Content must not be defamatory, obscene, inflammatory, discriminatory, or promote illegal activities.
- Content must not infringe on intellectual property rights or deceive others.
- Content must not harass, threaten, or invade the privacy of others.
We may suspend or terminate your Hub account if we determine, at our sole discretion, that you have breached these standards.
7. Use of Verifid Password Manager
The Verifid Password Manager is a feature that helps you securely store usernames, passwords, and other login details. It is not designed for use with high-risk accounts, such as online banking. You must keep your login details confidential and secure to prevent unauthorized access.
Verifid Password Manager
Verifid Password Manager also offers a password generator and auto-complete feature. While these features can help create strong passwords, we are not liable for the security or strength of any password generated using these tools.
8. Closing or Deleting Your Account
You can delete your Verifid account at any time by selecting the “Delete Account” option in the App’s settings. We will ask you to verify your identity, such as by taking a selfie, to confirm the deletion request.
If you delete your account, all associated data will be removed from our servers, including identifying attributes, biometrics, and any ‘non-identity’ attributes like email addresses. Any third parties you shared information with will retain those details according to their own policies.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we believe you are not complying with these terms, disrupt our services, or engage in harmful behavior.
9. Privacy and Security
We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. Our privacy policy explains in detail what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it. For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
10. Data Checks with Other Companies
If you add more information to your Verifid account beyond your basic ID, such as email addresses or additional credentials, we may verify this information with the issuing body, external identity verification providers, or credit reference agencies. You will be notified of these checks and their purposes.
Issuing authorities may provide verified credentials that you can add to your account, such as professional qualifications or references. You must only add genuine and current attributes to your account. We may suspend your account if we suspect any false or outdated information has been added.
11. Intellectual Property
Verifid owns or has the right to use all intellectual property, software, and designs within our App and Products. You must not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or distribute any part of our Products without our express permission.
12. Availability of the App and Products
While we aim to ensure that the App and Products are available at all times, there may be interruptions due to maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control. We will endeavor to inform you of any service disruptions as soon as possible, but we are not liable for any loss or damage caused by interruptions outside our control.
13. Your Use of the App and Products
You are solely responsible for deciding when and how to share your information with third parties. Verifid does not control or take responsibility for the actions of third parties with whom you choose to share your data.
You must use the App and Products in a legal and ethical manner and not for any fraudulent, abusive, or harmful purposes. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we suspect misuse.
14. Our Responsibility (Liability) to You
